How long does it take for my Message in a Bottle ® to arrive at its destination from the day I order it?
We ship via USPS Priority Mail and delivery is usually completed within four to five business days in the continental U.S. If you choose our optional USPS Express Mail and place your order by 3:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on a regular business day, Mon.-Fri. excluding holidays, your order will arrive within two to three business days to most locations. Express Mail orders placed outside the above guidelines will require one additional business day for travel.
What delivery methods do you offer?
For domestic delivery we ship via USPS Priority Mail $4.60 – $13.55 depending on zip code (this will be calculated during checkout) and USPS Express Mail $25.50 anywhere in the continential U.S. For International Delivery we ship via USPS Global Express Mail.*Additional Custom Charges may apply.
How are the bottles packaged for delivery?
We go through great lengths to ensure that our bottles arrive at their destination undamaged. We use multiple lines of protection which include protective wrap and transit tested delivery boxes.
What addresses appear on the outside of the delivery packaging?
Beyond the recipient’s address, our return address is the only address that appears on the packaging. Be sure to included your name in the text of your message if you want them to know who ordered it.
Where do I specify the address of where I want the bottle sent?
This is done at checkout. You will be asked to choose between sending it to the billing address or to an alternate address.
What if my Message in a Bottle ® arrives damaged?
In the case that your bottle arrives damaged in any way, carefully dispose of the damaged bottle and email us immediately. We will send a replacement at once.
Can I send my Message in a Bottle ® internationally?
Yes you can. Our system is designed to take orders to and from anywhere in the world. International shipping is sent through USPS Global Express Mail.
If you place your order before 1:00 pm Pacific Standard Time, Mon.-Fri. excluding holidays, your order will be processed and sent the next business day.
If it is placed after the above time, one additional day is required for processing.
The paper we use is very sheer and translucent parchment and is a perfect complement to our bottles.
Can you burn the edges of the message?
Yes, for an additional $3.99 we will burn two edges of your message. Our customers who requested this option feel it enhances the aged look of the message.
What is a Greeting and Closing?
The Greeting and Closing boxes are the start and end of your message. A typical greeting would be “Dear Jane” or some other form of greeting. Your closing box should contain the end of your message such as “Love, John”.
How long can a message be?
Normally messages should be kept to what text will fit on a standard 8.5 x 11 inch page. At most this can be stretched to what text will fit on two of the above sized pages. However keeping it to one page makes it both more aesthetically pleasing and easier to remove from the bottle by the recipient.
How long does it take to produce my Message in a Bottle ® Brand invitations from the day I approve them?
All invitations have a two week production lead time.
What is the shipping time for my Message in a Bottle ® Brand invitations to arrive at their destination from the day I approve them?
Shipping times for invitations are as follows: Top of the Line Glass Wedding Invitations – Four to five business day delivery time via USPS Priority Mail if shipped directly to you or if shipped for you to your recipients. All Other Invitations – Four to five business day delivery time via USPS Priority Mail if shipped directly to you. Up to seven business days via USPS First Class Mail if shipped for you to your recipients.
How will I provide all the addresses for those who will be attending my event if I’m having MessageInABottle.com ship my invitations directly to my recipients?
This is accomplished by simply emailing us the list of your invitees after your order has been placed..
How will I know my order has been accepted after I place it?
Immediately after placing your order you will receive a confirmation email that will include an order ID number.
How soon after I place my order can I expect a proof to be provided?
After placing your order, you can expect a proof within three business days.
Do you provide samples of text used on invitations that I might also use?
Yes, we have provided templates which you may customize to suit your purposes. They are visible and available during the ordering process..
On what type of paper do you print your messages?
We print all our invitations on beautiful parchment paper.
How long can the text of an invitation be?
Etiquette dictates that the text of an invitation not be too long or wordy and that it only include the essential information about the upcoming event. We however feel that you should be able to include everything you want on your invitation and we will work with you to accommodate your needs. The templates we have provided serve as good examples of what is normal, so feel free to use them as guidelines for your invitation..
Depending on the invitations you select, you will be able to choose from a variety of accessories that will enhance your invitation. You can choose from something simple like sand and seashells to something more delicate like rose petals. Determining what statement you would like your invitations to make is completely up to you.
